The instruction at the State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education «Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko» of the Ministry of Public Health of the Russian Federation is conducted in two languages: Russian and English. Upon the Pre-University Course completion, students may choose a language as they think proper. English-speaking students may study in the General Medicine Program with English as a language of instruction with concurrent study of the Russian Language. For the first three years, they study the Russian Language along with pre-clinical sciences; from the 4th year of study, Russian is the only language of instruction.

Hostel

International students are guaranteed a place in one of the University’s student hostels. The hostel for international students is located in the very center of the city in close proximity to the University’s main building. The accommodation costs start from 300 USD per year. Students may also hire a private apartment outside the campus as an option.

Tutoring and guidance

The well-trained and friendly staff of the Institute of International Medical Education offer advise, support and counseling on all aspects of student life. They assist students to adapt to the learning environment and consult on academic issues and administrative formalities. International students benefit from studying in small group; they are allotted a group tutor. This is a person who follows student academic progress, assists in case of any personal problems, arranges regular meetings throughout a year to tackle any problem students face.

Student health

International students studying at the University are eligible to be examined and treated, with a medical insurance at hand. The purchase of annual medical insurance is compulsory, and its cost is not included into the tuition fee structure. It is the competence of the Faculty’s staff to provide students with the medical insurance and to consult them on health issues.
