Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko
Healthcare in Russia and around the world is undergoing dramatic changes. Innovations in treatment and in organization of health services set forth questions of great complexity with regards to both medical education and research. The concern of the University is to keep abreast of the times, to meet increasing public needs and demands, and to maintain high-quality medical education and research. The present-day medical doctor is to bear responsibility for physical, mental and social well-being of people. He should be competent to solve arising medical problems and to take important medical decisions, with due consideration of ethical aspects. He should possess scientific knowledge, practical and research experience, and independent critical thinking skills. And above all, he must be able to adapt his knowledge, experience, and skills to the changing healthcare system.
